CELTIC legend Chris Sutton’s bumper BBC salary has been revealed.
Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker remains the corporation’s highest paid star but Hoops icon Sutton is taking home a cool sum for his punditry work.
The BBC’s annual salary list has been released, revealing how much many of their top earners are pocketing each year.
Ex-England striker Lineker’s £1,350,000-£1,354,999 salary makes him the Beeb’s top earner in the past year.
Radio 2 Breakfast Show host Zoe Ball is next, earning between £950,000 and £954,999.
Several of the BBC’s sporting faces are also listed in the annual report.
Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer earned between £380,000 and £384,999, which is down from the £445,000 to £449,999 he was paid for 2022/23.
Alex Scott, who hosts Football Focus as well as her punditry duties, earned £220,000 to £224,999.
BBC 5 Live presenter Mark Chapman took home £260,000 to £264,999.
And Sutton is listed as being paid £190,000 to £194,999 for 2023/24.
It’s the first time the 51-year old has appeared on the list.
The Celtic great works across various BBC programmes across radio and TV.
He’s one of 5 Live’s main commentators and was on duty for the Euro 2024 Final between Spain and England.
Sutton also provides regular commentary on Premier League matches too.
He also co-hosts the 606 phone-in show with Robbie Savage on a Sunday eveing.
On TV, Sutton often appears as an analyst on Football Focus and live results programme Final Score.
The figure, of course, only represents Sutton’s earning for his BBC work.
Away from the Beeb, he works for several other companies too across various media platforms.
Most prominently, he’s one of the main pundits for Sky Sports’ Scottish football coverage.
