Celtic loan star Paulo Bernardo continues Parkhead love affair as he’s spotted at famous Hoops hotspot

CELTIC’s two loan stars Paulo Bernardo and Adam Idah combined to seal the Scottish Cup against Rangers last month.

The midfielder drove forward from the centre of the park, evading a challenge before unleashing a long range shot.

And his effort was parried by Jack Butland into the feet of Idah who slotted home as the pair ran toward the crowd of green and white to celebrate.

And both stars seemed to have been loving life in Glasgow during their loan stints.

So much so that the Portuguese star has been spotted at a famous Hoops hotspot while on holiday.

He was pictured at McHale’s Bar and Grill, making a visit to New York CSC with his partner.

The fan club took to Facebook to post a snap of him writing: “A surprise unexpected visitor a few minutes ago.

“Paulo Bernardo alongside McHale’s staff member, Jonathon.”

And fans are evidently wanting a permanent deal to be struck for the youngster.

One fan commented: “We wouldn’t have won the double without him. Scored important goals and created the winner in the cup final.

Would be even better with a regular start.”

While another posted: “Brilliant. He’s there cause he’s into our club. Get him signed.”

A third fan added: “Hope you asked him to sign on the dotted line.”

A clause to make the loan deal permanent was included in the contract last summer for a fee of around £6.5million but Benfica are reportedly willing to negotiate for a lower price.

Captain Callum McGregor is backing the return of the midfielder, highlighting his importance to the team.

And Bernardo is hoping to stay in Glasgow, according to reports in his homeland from Record Portugal.

The outlet says that: “He lived a happy time at Celtic and as a result he would continue with the Scottish team.

“But at this point there are still many doubts as to whether this will be the outcome.”
