Celtic stars spotted dancing and singing to Taylor Swift as they let their hair down at start of winter break

IT’s no secret that Celtic’s statement win to close out 2023 came amidst plenty of Bad Blood.

After beating Rangers in the year-ending Old Firm derby, could it be said they’ve shaken off their rivals’ title challenge…?

Not quite, given there are still well over a dozen games still to be played.

But after beating St Mirren to start 2024 with another three points, several members of the Hoops squad headed out for a few celebratory drinks.

And as they toasted to entering the Scottish Premiership winter break with an eight-point lead, they were spotted singing and dancing to another dominant force – the ubiquitous Taylor Swift.

The pop sensation’s 2014 hit Shake It Off had a group of Celtic stars up on their feet in a Glasgow bar.

Brittany Hockley, WAG to Hoops backup goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrest, captured the moment in Wunderbar on her Instagram story and shared it with her followers.

In the clip, Alistair Johnston, Gustaf Lagerbielke and Mikey Johnston, are seen throwing out some shapes, partying alongside some fans in the background.

Matt O’Riley and Anthony Ralston are the only members of the group sitting down but they can still be seen enjoying the tune, O’Riley in particular.

Winger Luis Palma directed a cheeky middle finger towards the camera (returned playfully by Hockley) who then panned round to film other half Siegrist belting out the lyrics of the song.

The footage was filmed in the hours after Celtic had beaten St Mirren 3-0 at St Mirren Park in Paisley.

Daizen Maeda scored in the first minute before another goal came from player of the year candidate O’Riley on six minutes.

Greg Taylor sealed the deal against ten-man Saints in the second half.

The Buddies had Toyosi Olusanya sent off in first half stoppage time.

Meanwhile, Rangers claim there was an “overriding consensus” that the decision not to award them a handball against Celtic from a meeting with the SFA.

A spokesperson said: “Rangers FC today met with Scottish FA officials to discuss the VAR handball call and subsequent miscommunications from Saturday’s Old Firm match.

“From the meeting, there was an overriding consensus the VAR decision of no handball was incorrect.

“Having listened to the audio, there is no mention of a potential offside at the time of the handball decision.

“Rangers is also deeply concerned at the haste at which the erroneous no handball call was made.
