Claremont’s Toyworld hosting oysters and champagne night

Toy shopping for the kids sounds more like a migraine than a fun night out, but a self-proclaimed “boujee” toy store is turning that idea on its head with an oysters and champagne event.

In an ‘only in Claremont’ moment, the local Toyworld is hosting a night of “shopping, shucking, singing, and sipping” on Thursday evening.

Owners Stephanie and Mark Finlay own two Toyworld stores in Claremont and Fremantle.

The oysters and champagne event was Stephanie’s idea.

“We’ve never done anything like this before,” she said.

“Our customers are a bit ‘boujee’ and we’re not inside Claremont Quarter so I thought how do I pull people into my store?

“You’ve constantly got to be doing something different and thinking outside the box.”

As well as the freshly shucked oysters, there will be 20 per cent off, an introduction to Christmas’ hot ticket items, Lightbox Performing Arts vocalists and an acoustic guitarist.

Stephanie said she had just come back to work from having her own children and thought the event would be a good way to reconnect with customers.

While parents are welcome to attend alone, kids are also welcome.
