Coldplay concerts set to provide extra work, create thousands of jobs across Perth

Coldplay concerts in Perth are expected to inject not just millions of dollars into the local economy – but provide extra work for thousands across the city.

“It’s fantastic that thousands of Western Australians are being employed directly as a result of these two concerts,” Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti said.

“Major exclusive events like our sold-out Coldplay concerts clearly show they’re not just huge in terms of bringing visitors and tourism spend in WA, but also great for the local workforce here.”

Nearly 134,000 people will flock to Optus Stadium across the two nights on November 18 and 19 with 30 per cent of these coming from out of the state, expected to inject millions of valuable dollars into WA businesses like hotels, bars, restaurants and tourism attractions

The blockbuster event is the first time Coldplay will play in Australia in seven years, and the first time in Perth for 14 years.
