The American cosmetics group Coty, now listed on the Paris stock exchange, has appointed Pierric Duthoit, formerly of Meta, as chief digital officer. He will take up this position on December 1.
Duthoit graduated from Saint-Cyr and HEC and has been business director of Meta France (formerly Facebook Inc) since November 2022. A group he had joined a year earlier as sales director in charge of the commerce industries, including retail and e-commerce, for Meta France. Prior to that, Duthoit had spent seven years at Google, including a spell as sales director in Moscow, before becoming sales director for the Middle East and Africa, in charge of the tech, telecoms, FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods), public sector and tourism industries. From 2010 to 2014, he worked at Meetic as director of France, director of European marketing and then director of customer acquisition and media buying.
At Coty, whose portfolio includes Lancaster, Orveda and Cover Girl, the role of digital director was created in November 2020 and was initially given to Jean-Denis Mariani, who was also the digital director of the LVMH brand Guerlain. His LinkedIn profile states that between 2020 and 2023 Coty’s e-commerce net revenue doubled from 450 million dollars to 900 million dollars (825 million euros).
The American group recorded sales up 18% to $1.64 billion in the first quarter of its 2023/24 financial year.
