Coty launches Infiniment Coty Paris, its own brand of fragrances

To mark its 120th anniversary, and at a time when the market for premium fragrances is booming, the American cosmetics group Coty is launching Infiniment Coty Paris, its own line of fragrances.

Created by Sue Nabi, Coty’s CEO, and Nicolas Vu, with whom she previously founded the premium skincare brand Orveda, licensed to Coty, the collection has been available online since February 28 and will be available in a Paris pop-up store from March 20.

Listed on the Paris stock exchange since last September, the Coty group, founded in Paris in 1904 by François Coty, continues to return to its French roots. On Saturday March 2, Infiniment Coty Paris will be unveiled to the public in Paris.

Right in the middle of Paris Fashion Week, the American cosmetics group Coty will be taking over 5, rue Saint-Merri in the Marais district to present the fourteen Infiniment Coty Paris fragrances. From 2pm to 8pm, visitors will be able to discover the fragrances, as well as attend lectures, dance performances and showcases by artists Aime Simone and John Glacier. There will also be works by Isabelle.D, Evans Mbugua and Younes Khourassani, based on the Infiniment Coty Paris bottle.

To mark the launch of its perfume brand, Coty has teamed up with 1-54, the annual African contemporary art fair, to give its bottles a new ‘artistic’ life and support artists from the African scene.

The group’s love of Paris continues on March 20 with the first global pop-up, which will open its doors at 5, rue des Blancs-Manteaux, also in the Marais district. The location “will be open until the brand finds a space that could be a permanent fit for Infiniment Coty Paris boutique,” according to Coty’s communications department.

Coty presented Infiniment Coty Paris to the press at a Paris hotel in early January. The fourteen fragrances are divided into three collections: dawn fragrances, day fragrances and dusk fragrances with more intense notes. “Genres”, built around musk, “Soleil d’Ikosim”, orange blossom, and “Matin de Jade”, ginger… are just some of the fragrances in this collection which sells for 230 euros per 75ml bottle. The fragrances are inspired by the stories of Sue Nabi and Nicolas Vu, their aspirations and their roots in North Africa and Asia respectively.

In terms of production, Infiniment Coty Paris is the first collection to be manufactured entirely with 100% alcohol derived from carbon emissions captured through a biofermentation process. The line is made up of four elements: concentrated perfume, purified water, alcohol and a process called “molecular aura”. This process, for which a patent is pending, is designed to modulate the evaporation of olfactory molecules, preserving the fragrance for up to 30 hours.

The bottles encapsulating the fragrances are minimalist and designed to be stacked. Finally, there is no secondary packaging, just a shell made from plant fibre.
