Could WWE Elimination Chamber at Optus Stadium be affected by Perth’s rain and wet weather?

WWE punters are looking up and praying for clear skies after wet weather conditions have already caused havoc, cancelling the annual Rottnest Swim.

Rain and wet conditions caused by the remnants of an ex-tropical cyclone could have an impact on the WWE’s epic Elimination Chamber event at Optus Stadium on Saturday.

Perth locals awoke to the sound of rain this morning, after suffering through several blistering heat waves over the last few weeks.

The annual Rottnest Swim, which took off from Cottesloe Beach on Saturday morning, was abandoned part-way through after organisers determined the weather conditions to be too dangerous.

But the rain could have bigger implications ahead of a wrestling extravaganza expected to attract a crowd of more than 40,000 on Saturday afternoon.

Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Helen Reid told The West Australian that the conditions were likely to last for a few days.
