The NTA CUET UG registration process requires applicants to fill in their personal details, followed their academic qualifications and further requires the candidates to choose from a drop-down list the universities they wish to apply for through the CUET UG 2024. Several candidates have taken to X (formerly Twitter), sharing screenshots and tagging the NTA – to fix this issue.
In addition to the incomplete list of colleges, media reports also point to the issue of candidates being asked to furnish details about the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR).
According to media reports, CUET UG applicants have claimed that the form has an ABC column, whereas school-goers are unaware of their ABC ID, and the APAAR. Media reports also suggest that as per candidate feedback, there are no guidelines explaining the ABC.
The concerning issue however, is that of the incomplete list of colleges in the CUET UG 2024 portal; with one of the most sought-after universities in the country- Delhi University (DU) not being in the list.
The Delhi University admissions 2024-25 website states that “All candidates seeking admission to UG Programs of the University of Delhi for the academic year 2024-25 must register to CUET (UG) 2024” – with a link to the CUET UG 2024 application portal.
Candidate reactions on social media
While some claimed that the CUET UG 2024 form was released in a hurry, others urged the Education Ministry to look into resolving the issue. Here’s a look at the reactions of applicants tweeting on X-
User @infinitetimes01 shared a screenshot with the list of universities as shown on the NTA CUET UG 2024 application form. However, ‘Delhi University (DU)’ is not shown on the list.
Another user, @CaptAmarNath72 tagged the NTA saying, “@NTA_Exams we are not able to see full university & program list on Samarth site for CUET UG 2024. Can you please advise if the list is yet to be uploaded.”
User @Sha82418shridhi tagging the NTA said that “While selecting the subjects and colleges for cuet ug I’ve selected more than 20 universities as a wide option list, but in the form, I can see only a few of the universities in the selection list. Even though there is no such limit for university selection as per the information.”
Another user @skrohilla too shared an image of the application form, saying “Applicants facing registration issues. Delhi University not appearing in the drop down list. Hope the issue being tackled on priority.”
For the 2024-25 Academic Session, the NTA will conduct CUET (UG) – 2024 in a hybrid mode, offering both Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Pen & Paper options. According to the notice, exam will take place from May 15 to May 31, 2024.
