DAILY NEWS FOOTBALL TOP 10

1. Sierra Canyon (9-0 overall, 4-0 in Mission League)

The Trailblazers dug themselves out of a hole after giving up two early touchdowns to Serra on Friday night. Quarterback Wyatt Becker threw touchdown passes to Cole Crawford and Kwazi Gilmer and Dane Dunn rushed for two TDs. Marquis Gallegos had an interception near the end zone to finish off the game.

2. Oaks Christian (7-2 overall 4-0 Marmonte League)

Nate Bennett completed 20 of 27 passes for 342 yards and four touchdowns and Devin Tate threw for one touchdown against Simi Valley. The Lions will next play St. Bonaventure to decide the league title.

Next: vs. St. Bonaventure, Friday

3. Chaminade (5-2 overall, 2-2 Mission League)

The Eagles moved into a tie for third place in the Mission League after losing to Bishop Amat, 35-17.  The Lancers scored 21 points in the fourth quarter for the win. It’s been a learning process for a young Chaminade team this season.

4. Valencia (8-1 overall, 5-0 Foothill League)

Valencia beat Hart 37-7 on Friday to clinch a share of the league title. Jackson Askins completed 13 of 18 passes for 298 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions and rushed for 33 yards and one touchdown. Luke Cruz hauled in two interceptions.

Next: at Canyon, 7 p.m.

5. St. Francis (8-1 overall, 4-0 Angelus League)

The Golden Knights have at least a share of the Angelus League title after beating Crespi. Loyola is right behind St. Francis in the league standings with a 3-1 record.

6. Thousand Oaks (7-3 overall, 5-1 Canyon League)

The Lancers allowed only one touchdown in Friday’s win over Agoura during what’s turned out to be a very competitive Canyon League season. Thousand Oaks is first in the standings with one Friday night in league remaining.

7. Moorpark (8-1 overall, 4-1 Canyon League)

Moorpark scored at least a touchdown in every quarter to beat Camarillo on Friday. The Musketeers are in a tie for second place in the league standings with one league game left to play.

8. Newbury Park (6-3 overall, 4-1 Canyon League)

Brady Smigiel threw for 267 yards and four touchdowns in a shutout of Oak Park. Jaden Mack, Landon Bell and Shane Rosenthal each had touchdown receptions and Jaxon McKinney added a rushing TD. The Panthers are tied with Moorpark for second place in league.

Next: vs. Camarillo, Friday

9. Agoura (7-2 overall, 3-2 Canyon League)

The Chargers were held to their lowest scoring total of the season on Friday and only put up a touchdown against Thousand Oaks when Harrison Novak connected with Zeke Bussiere. Agoura is third in the league standings.

Next: vs. Moorpark, Friday

10. Notre Dame (5-4 overall, 1-3 Mission League)

Carson Brewster had an interception and five tackles while Steele Pizzella threw for three touchdowns as the Knights picked up their first Mission League win under new head coach Evan Yabu.
