Perth photographer and Edith Cowan University PhD candidate DeeDee Noon’s latest exhibition, Toying with Photography: F-Stop Troop, is not for those with fixed ideas surrounding gender and the colour pink.
After exploring the complexities of the colour pink and its connection to femininity and identity in previous solo exhibition Pinkification: Rethinking Pink, Noon has returned with this 3-D photographic portraiture exhibition raising playful questions about what constitutes a toy, and examining how photography, gender identity narratives and consumer culture collide.
