DIY Pagani Replica With Daewoo Parts Will Blow Your Mind

  • The car is based around a bespoke steel frame and features lightweight fiberglass panels.
  • It tries to be as close possible to the original, going as far as sporting gullwing doors.
  • The Vietnamese YouTuber has built a Bugatti Chiron replica in the past.

No, the remarkable creation you’re looking at is not a one-of-one Huayra to roll out of Pagani’s factory but rather an intricate and extremely detailed replica created in the backyard and workshop of a Vietnamese YouTuber.

For a few years now, NHẾT TV has been building supercar replicas from scratch and has already crafted a stunning Bugatti Chiron and Ferrari LaFerrari. Earlier this year, he also created a separate Pagani Huayra and like that one, this bright red example is extremely detailed and could easily fool anyone that’s not intimately familiar with the original.

The build process is long and starts with a custom steel frame assembled to reflect the general shape of the Huayra. Clay is then applied across the entire exterior of the car. Glue is poured over it and fiberglass placed on top. When the fiberglass parts are set, they can be removed from the car, leaving the team with all the necessary exterior parts they need to assemble the car.

With the body panels completed and a shell also formed from fiberglass, work started on finalizing the steel chassis and underpinnings of the car. What makes the whole process all the more impressive is that no advanced tools are used during the replica’s construction.

Even the steering wheel is made up of several pieces of curved steel which have been welded together to form a circle. The whole video goes for almost an hour but watching it is almost therapeutic.

It’s not just the Pagani’s exterior that has been carved from hand but the interior is also completely bespoke and uses parts also formed in strong fiberglass. This includes the instrument cluster, the dashboard, and the transmission tunnel.

Heck, even the seats themselves were carved from clay and then formed from fiberglass. It’s the same story with the headlights and taillights as they too were built from scratch. On the other hand, the video shows a Daewoo Espero (even though the title identifies it as a $200 used Toyota) that lent its engine and probably some other mechanical parts, such as the steering, to this replica.

Once construction of the car’s exterior and interior was completed, it was painted in a bright shade of red while the chassis and other elements were painted in gloss black. What’s particularly impressive about the whole thing is just how accurate all of the proportions seem to be.

And as long as no one asks to lift the rear clamshell expecting to see an AMG-sourced twin-turbo V12, its builder can drive around making (almost) everyone thinking he owns a real, multi-million dollar exotic.
