A moment of silence for the looming extinction of the almighty V8 — Dodge just announced that 2024 is the last year it will sell a Durango with a Hemi. At least they gave it a punny name: the Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI. It’s the first in a run of “Last Call” Durango models that will be revealed throughout 2024. Dodge first brought out “Last Call” models for the end of Charger and Challenger production, and milked them for all they’re worth. The fact that Dodge puts “Last Call” in quotations leads me to believe that there may be more last calls than we may think.

There will only be 1000 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI’s produced, with only 250 examples of each color: Diamond Black, Destroyer Gray, Vapor Gray, and White Knuckle. They do not feature any performance upgrades over the regular Durango SRT 392, but they do feature a slew of special edition bits like yellow-edged stripes, 20-inch satin black forged wheels, yellow Brembo brakes, and fender decals. Unique interior pieces include yellow and silver stitching, a leather and suede steering wheel with a lit-up SRT logo, and carbon fiber interior accents.

The AlcHEMI will cost HEMI fans at least $91,390 to start, which is $3,595 on top of a Dodge Durango SRT 392 Premium model. Production is slated to begin April with vehicles projected to arrive at dealerships starting in May. For anyone interested in purchasing one of these special edition ass-hauling SUVs, you can use the Dodge Horsepower Locator website starting in February to find the nearest dealer that received allocations of this “Last Call” model.

As of now, Dodge will continue to produce Hemis for the Wrangler 392, Ram 1500 Classic and Ram Heavy Duty Trucks, but the end of the Hemi seems to be inching closer by the day.
