Dominos delivery driver critically injured after a major crash wrecked three cars

A Domino’s delivery driver has been critically injured in a crash in Perth’s north.

Three cars collided around 5.40pm on Saturday evening at an intersection in Butler. The force rolled a Nissan Navara and the Kia driver was trapped behind the wheel.

Local residents raced to help him, including a former critical care paramedic whose training helped save the teen’s life.

Caleb Van Heerden heard an explosion of steel and glass and sprung into action.

“Being a former criti-care paramedic I realised there was huge huge injuries involved,” he told 7News.

“I raced, grabbed my jump bag out of the house – got in the car and went round and found the two vehicles involved.

“Everyone had the same goal. You could feel the angst this being a young kid – everyone felt that urgency.”

The teens in the Nissan managed to climb out and firefighters cut the Kia driver free.

The Dominos delivery driver was rushed to hospital via St John ambulance. On Sunday night, he was in a critical but stable condition.

Resident Aaron Bruce told 7News that locals wanted traffic lights or a roundabout installed to make turning safer and slow drivers down.

“On a blind hill as well, people rush because there’s so much traffic,” he said.
