IT’s third time lucky for Dundee and Rangers tonight after the much-delayed clash finally got the green light for Dens Park.
Both previous attempts at getting the fixtures played were called off due to a waterlogged pitch at the Scot Foam Stadium.
The match was originally pencilled in for Sunday, March 17 but referee Don Robertson deemed the surface unplayable during a pitch inspection just 90 minutes before kick-off.
Philippe Clement’s men were already at the stadium – and it was the same story once again a week later despite the pitch PASSING its initial inspection at 11am.
Whistler Robertson then felt the surface was unsafe for stars to play on after the second check at 3.30pm following a period of sustained rainfall.
It was controversially pushed back a week to take place this Wednesday instead – days after the rest of the league played their final fixtures before the split.

The Dark Blues have already clinched a top six place with a game to spare though after Motherwell and Hibs failed to leapfrog them at Fir Park on Saturday.
The match will take place at Dens Park after everything went to plan during today’s check with referee Robertson happy with the condition of the surface.
The inspection took place today but contingency plans were put in place in case it failed the check, with St Johnstone’s McDiarmid Park tabled as an emergency venue for the clash.

Gers boss Clement has revealed that Mohamed Diomande and Ridvan Yilmaz will miss the match, while Leon Balogun is a doubt through illness.
Ryan Jack, Oscar Cortes and Danilo are all still sidelined and won’t be available for selection.
The manager said: “Ridvan Yilmaz and Mohamed Diomande won’t be ready for tomorrow, Leon Balogun has been sick the past few days so he is not totally fit.
“It is about others stepping up when players are out.”
Pushed on the fitness of Yilmaz, Clement added: “Ridvan Yilmaz will be back relatively soon, he is training individually on pitch but not back with the squad yet.”
Owen Beck and Diego Pineda are both still unavailable for Dundee boss Docherty as well.
