I’ve been testing and reviewing robot vacuums here at BGR for about a decade. In that time, there have only been a few big advancements that have really excited me. First, it was the auto-empty base station. Instead of having to empty your robot by hand, the charging station would suck out all the debris and store it in a large bag that only needed changing every 1-2 months. Then, it was the auto-washing mop feature. Once docked, flagship models could now wash their own mop pads with clean water and dry them with hot air.
Now, there has been another big advancement in the robot vacuum market, and I’m here for it. Cutting-edge models like the ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Combo can do everything I just covered, but they also have a separate cordless vacuum built right into the base station. This quite literally may be the last vacuum you ever need to buy, and there are two different versions. The ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Combo comes with a handheld vacuum, and it’s $200 off at $1,399.99 right now. Or, you can get the ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Combo Complete with a full cordless stick vacuum, which retails for $1,699.99.
ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 COMBO COMPLETE All-in-One Robot Vacuum & Mop MSRP: $1,699.99
Even if you have one of the best flagship robot vacuums on the market, it’s definitely not the only vacuum in your house.
At the very least, you probably also have a cordless stick vacuum like a Dyson. That way, you can clean things like furniture and your stairs. I don’t care how good your robot vacuum is… it’s not cleaning your couches or going up and down the stairs. Plus, there are some quick messes that you just want to take care of quickly yourself instead of having a robot vacuum roll around your home to clean.
Until companies start selling something like Rosie, the Jetson’s robot maid, you’re going to need a separate vacuum to handle some cleanups. It’s completely unavoidable. Now, however, that separate vacuum can be incorporated right into your robot vacuum’s base station.
As the inclusion of “Combo” in the name suggests, the ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Combo series is two systems in one.
First, you have the DEEBOT X2 Omni, which is ECOVACS’s flagship robot vacuum and mop. This model has all the bells and whistles you can think of. From ultra-strong 8,000Pa suction and AI obstacle avoidance to a built-in mop with mopping pads that automatically wash and dry themselves, all the bases are covered.
Then, there’s an addition to the base station that you won’t find on the regular X2 Omni. On the right side, there’s an extra space that stores a totally separate cordless vacuum cleaner. And here’s the best part: the cordless vacuum auto-empties in the base station, just like the robot vacuum! What’s more, ECOVACS uses an extra large debris bag in the base station so that it can hold up to three months of dirt.
ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 COMBO COMPLETE All-in-One Robot Vacuum & Mop MSRP: $1,699.99
There are two different versions of the X2 Combo, and they’re both on sale right now with their first-ever discounts.
First, we have the cream of the crop. It’s called the ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Combo Complete, and this is the model I’ve been testing for the past week in my own home. It comes with the X2 Omni robot vacuum and mop, plus the additional cordless vacuum cleaner on the side of the base station. Then, there’s also a space to hold the tube and motorized brush head for the cordless vacuum.
This model retails for $1,699.99, which is definitely a hefty chunk of change. When you consider that some premium robot vacuum and mop models cost that much on their own, however, the price becomes slightly more agreeable.
Or, if you just want a handheld vacuum rather than a full-on cordless stick vac, you can get the regular ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Combo model without the “Complete” tacked on. This version retails for $100 less at $1,600, but it’s down to $1,399.99 on sale.
