Forensics officers in white and blue suits have been spotted scouring the murder scene around Anderson Drive.

It came as locals claimed she was slaughtered because she owed dealers cash.

Neighbours have told of their shock following the brutal attack.

One local told The Press and Journal she “wouldn’t go out at night”.

Another said: “I find it quite intimidating to have so many police around. I know they’re doing a job but it’s unsettling.”

A third added: “You just don’t expect this sort of thing to happen right on your doorstep. It’s unbelievable and very sad.

“It’s usually a quiet street, there’s not much anti-social behaviour.”

Kiesha was found lying in bed after a brutal assault that left her with horrific head injuries. Police crews are now trying to find the weapon.

Detective Superintendent Lorna Ferguson spoke directly to the culprit to warn them they’ll be hearing a knock at the door sooner rather than later.

She said: “I would say that somebody somewhere knows who you are. And anybody with information please contact us.

“We have a thorough investigation ongoing. I have no doubt through the fullness of time through witnesses, CCTV and other means that we will catch them.”

The murder has sent shockwaves through the Moray town and cops are trying to reassure the public that they are not in danger.

DS Ferguson said: “There are real concerns in the community and I can understand that. We have uniformed officers who are carrying out reassurance patrols in Elgin

“It is an unusual incident. I’ve got no information to suggest that anybody else is at risk. I’ll remain open minded on that.”

Information can be passed to police via the online portal, by calling 101 and quoting reference 3250 of Thursday, 16 November, 2023 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
