In the midst of a retail renewal, with the recent openings of Buck Mason Women’s, Credo Beauty and Vici, the Venice neighborhood in Los Angeles has just seen the Esprit brand open its first store at 1508 Abbot Kinney Boulevard, replacing the former Satine boutique.
Behind a multicolored facade and a large neon sign bearing the brand’s effigy, perfectly reminiscent of the 80’s, Esprit presents its collections of basics in an 800 square feet space, including hoodies, jacquard sweaters, T-shirts, denim, tote-bags and party wear, as well as sequin mini-dresses, sequined satin wide leg pants, lace cami tops and sateen blazers.
The Venice boutique is the fourth to open in the U.S., after New York and its long-term pop-up space at 130 Greene Street, and two pop-up stores in Chicago and Aventura, Florida, in the Aventura Mall.
Relaunched since 2022 by new CEO William Pak and his wife Su Yi Chiu as the brand’s chairman of the board, Esprit is expecting new developments in the coming months, with the announcement of a flagship store in New York and further openings in Miami and Vancouver.
Esprit hopes to open 15 shops by the end of the next year, then 25 the following year.
“If we are present in the United States with around thirty shops, that’s a good way of building up the recovery” said Pak in an interview with FashionNetwork.com last October.
