Andre Bassogog is a former Cameroon star who lambasts underfire and arrogant keeper Andre Onana who thinks he is special for not respecting AFCON.
Bassogog argues that the Manchester United keeper is selfish for delaying his arrival for the AFCON tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.

The ex-Cameroon star, Bassogog states that Onana sent a bad message after delaying his departure to the 2023 AFCON tournament.
Media reports suggest that it was originally agreed that Onana would join the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon camp after United’s English Premier League tie against Tottenham Spurs on Sunday.

The keeper, Onana was expected to arrive in time for the Indomitable Lions opening fixture against Guinea less than 24 hours later.

However, it’s now widely reported that the Cameroon net minder, Onana will not make it in time for his nation’s AFCON Group C opener.
“That sends such a bad message, not only for Cameroon, but for the respect people will have for the Africa Cup of Nations and for the way they should treat us, the equality,” Bassong told the BBC, as per the Mirror.
“If we don’t even respect ourselves how can you expect other people to treat you any different.

“I like Andre, I’ll always have his back when I have to, but when things like that happen.. the nation, the pride of the country and the continent is way an individual person.”
Coached by Rigobert Song, Cameroon will meet the Syli National of Guinea on Monday evening and the keeper remains doubtful for the clash.

Meanwhile, The South African published that Onana recently said mistakes are part of the game of football as he remains under scrutiny at old Trafford.
“Mistakes are part of learning, we know that people expect a lot from me and that’s why they criticise me so much,” Onana told Sky Italia
