BAYERN MUNICH have loaned former Celtic kid Barry Hepburn to Austrian second tier club DSV Leoben after his loan at Queen’s Park was cut short.
The Scotland Under 19s starlet joined the Spiders in the summer from the German champions, who he signed for from Celtic in August, 2020.
But the move didn’t work out for either party and the Hampden club announced the loan move had been ended by mutual consent earlier this month after 21 appearances.
Bayern have wasted no time in shipping the 19-year-old out on loan again this time to promoted minnows DSV Leoben, who are in seventh place in the second tier of Austrian football.
Leoben boss Rene Poms said: “We welcome Barry and this is an exciting move for us. He has a lot of attacking talent and we hope it will benefit both us and the player.”
Hepburn, who has six caps for Billy Stark’s Under 19s side, still has 18 months left on his deal with the Bavarian giants.
And he will come up against Celtic loan kids, defender Matthew Anderson and keeper Tobi Oluwayemi, who play for Admira Wacker in the same league.
Meanwhile, Celtic star Matt O’Riley is attracting interest from surprise La Liga table-toppers Girona.
The Spanish side are understood to be keen on striking a deal for the Denmark international in this month’s transfer window, whilst Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers hopes to keep hold of the 23-year-old until at least the summer.
The midfielder has hit a club-leading ten goals already in a stellar season, and is contracted at Parkhead until 2027, putting the Scottish champions in a strong negotiating position over the City Group club.
