A video of former Orlando Pirates star Thembinkosi Lorch celebrating his Mamelodi Sundowns move has been circulating on social media.
The midfielder, affectionately known as “Nyoso”, is officially a Masandawana and he is enjoying every moment of it so far.
FANS REACT TO NYOSO’S SINGING AND DANCING
In the clip, Lorch is standing on top of a chair in front of his new teammates at the club’s headquarters in Chloorkop when he breaks into song. And what better song to sing than DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small’s 2019 tribute track?
The song, named after the footballer, was an ode to his impressive display of football during the 2018/2019 season. That is also the same year Lorch was crowned the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Footballer of the Season.

The clip shocked many football fans because Lorch is perceived as a reserved person.
“I’ve never seen Lorch this happy,” wrote a Sundowns fan.
“Never seen a video of him singing his song at Op (Orlando Pirates) yah noh he’s happy,” said a Bucs fan.

LORCH ON HIS MOVE FROM PIRATES TO SUNDOWNS
In a statement on Friday, 26 January, Pirates confirmed that Lorch’s exit.
“Thembinkosi Lorch is to leave Orlando Pirates … after a discussion between the chairman Dr Irvin Khoza and the Mamelodi Sundowns hierarchy,” read the statement on the Pirates website.
“The club thanks ‘Nyoso’ for his immense contribution by adding another page in the history of the club. We wish him and his family well in his future sporting pursuit.”

Lorch also penned an emotional message on his Instagram account at the weekend. In a lengthy statement, the midfielder thanked Khoza, Pirates management, his teammates, and the fans for the love and support.
“My time has been filled with unforgettable memories, personal growth, and the chance to play alongside very talented football players,”he said.

He also thanked his new coach, Rulani Mokwena, and the rest of the Sundowns staff.
“I’m looking forward to this next chapter of my career with Mamelodi Sundowns, and I will do my best to support my teammates and contribute towards the club’s success.
“Thank you to the chairman of Mamelodi Sundowns, the management team, coach Rulani [Mokwena], and his successful technical team for having confidence in me joining this prestigious team.”
