Exact date London Underground stations could close ‘at last minute’ as commuters hit again by strike over conditions – The Scottish Sun

THIS is the exact date London Underground stations could close “at the last minute” – as commuters are hit by another strike.

The TSSA rail union said members working in customer service on the Tube will go on strike this Friday.

The walkouts will take place throughout the day – and includes workers on overnight shifts stretching into Saturday morning.

It comes after an earlier TSSA strike forced stations to shut on April 10.

The strikes this week are likely to cause stations to close at the last minute on Thursday night.

They may stay closed throughout the night tube service in the early hours of Saturday morning.

TSSA customer service workers will also refuse to work overtime from April 29 until May 5.

This overtime ban will again lead to station closures at very short notice, the union said.

TSSA General Secretary Mayam Eslamdoust said: “It’s clear that our Customer Service Managers strike on April 10 made a real impact.

“Many stations shut at short notice, and we had overwhelming support from the public.

“But London Underground’s has refused to get back round the negotiating table.

“We have been forced to take further strike action this week – London Underground must now come clean with the public.

“Their refusal to negotiate seriously and fairly with our union will lead to stations closing at the last minute. Others will be understaffed.

“We have made it clear that our union will not accept the continued threats to our members’ roles, locations, terms, and conditions.

“We will continue to take sustained action until London Underground is prepared to negotiate with us in good faith.”
