Exclusive look at Australia’s biggest Milky Lane venue in Perth’s Currambine

Perth’s northern suburbs will be home to Australia’s biggest venue for national burger chain Milky Lane when it opens its doors on Good Friday.

The new venue in Currambine was taking shape, with fit-outs still taking place in and outside the venue, when PerthNow was given an exclusive look at what is sure to be a popular food and beverage joint in the area.

The new venue is at Currambine Central Shopping Centre, taking over the space previously occupied by Spur Steak & Grill.

The success of the Elizabeth Quay venue, which opened in 2022, has made Milky Lane a popular destination with an eye-catching American-inspired menu, one-of-a-kind cocktails and eye-catching street art of rap and hip-hop icons.

Milky Lane WA area developer Ray Strauss said the new venue 29km north of the CBD closely followed a recent opening at Curtin University in Bentley.

“We have always kept an open mind on locations and actively try to engage with our social media following on where they would like to see us set up shop,” he said.

“Growing up firstly in Ocean Reef and then Mindarie, I’ve always witnessed how popular Currambine is for that dinner/movie/dessert night out.

“We are hoping to well and truly revive that alongside some other great operators also opening soon in the precinct.”

The area is slowly becoming a booming hospitality hub for the north, with cookie chain Get Chunky and pizzeria Il Locale soon to open in the precinct.

Mr Strauss said the inclusion of a private dining room was an exciting addition for the burger chain, which hoped to create an “unparalleled dining experience for groups, unmatched in both atmosphere and quality”.

He said the Currambine venue will also launch an exclusive “All Stars Menu” that brings back the best Milky Lane specials from the past.

“In the following months we will be extending the venue to include another room upstairs with some more exciting Milky Lane firsts that we can’t disclose just yet. This will also open the ability for us to host larger canape-style functions and events upwards of 100 pax,” he said.
