Expanish moves Barcelona schools to iconic city location

The award-winning Spanish language provider will see its Barcelona centres, a regular school for students aged 16-29 and a school for those over 30, operating from a historic building in the Passatge de Méndez Vigo 8 neighbourhood from June 17 onwards.

“We’re thrilled to be moving to such a historic and culturally significant building in Barcelona.

“At Expanish we’re determined to make our new campus a hub for interculturalism, where students from around the world can connect with each other and the local community,” Expanish director and co-founder Agustin Vignale told The PIE News

Apart from renovating the building with the institute’s distinctive style and preserving its historical features, Expanish will also be offering modern facilities and local art and design for the students throughout the campus. Some of the key features are:

  • Separate floors for under-30 and 30+ students, with dedicated reception and large common areas.
  • Larger classrooms that are filled with natural light and include modern facilities for an optimal learning environment.
  • Expanded indoor and outdoor common areas to encourage social interaction among students and host dynamic activities.
  • Full accessibility for students with reduced mobility.

Expanish aims to maintain the building’s importance as a cultural association and make it a key meeting point for language learning and cultural exchange in Barcelona.

“We’re confident that our upgraded facilities will elevate the student experience at Expanish. We want to be more than just a language school – we want a space that inspires students and emphasises cultural immersion from the moment they come through the front door,” said Vignale.

He added that Expanish would continue to improve and expand its immersive programs, which include the recent additions of junior summer camps and school group tours.

The language institute noted the new site in Barcelona as being attractive for its restaurants, shops, streets and easy accessibility to train stations, metro stations, and intercity bus services.

The development comes over a year after Expanish announced its new Spanish language school in Malaga – its fifth in four locations across Spain and Argentina – as previously reported by The PIE.
