Experts share insights with Rayat Bahra students

CHANDIGARH: Eminent personalities from diverse fields, like education, industry, media, literature, fine arts entrepreneurs, interacted with faculty members and students of different courses Rayat Bahra University as part of an event titled “Collaborate and Innovate: Bridging Industry and Academia” on Tuesday.
Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the university said the University Grants Commission (UGC) had taken a new initiative to bring industry and other professional expertise into the educational institutions. For this it had mooted a new concept under which professionals from different fields would be made “Professor of Practice”.
This would expose the students in higher education institutions (HEIs) to real world practices and the industry would also benefit from the graduates who would have been trained in relevant skills when they completed their course of study, he added.
Chancellor of Rayat Bahra University Gurvinder Singh Bahra welcomed the eminent guests and expressed optimism that deliberations at the meeting would prove to be fruitful both for all stakeholders. Bahra conferring the honour of professor of eminence to Prof Rupinder Tiwari,Prof S S Bari,Prof K K Bhasin, Prof Manmohan Gupta, Prof Anil Monga,Prof B S Ghuman, Dr Manjeet Kaur, Jyoti Seth , Prof Rajat Sandhir, Dr Vinod Nagpal, Dr V K Vats, Prof Jaswinder Bhalla, Prof E Nahar, SS Virdi , NS Arora, from DDA Delhi, Arun Kamboj,Rajesh Kumar from Allianze Pharmaceutical Company, Prof Anil Monga from Panjab University, Prof E Nahar Punjab Minority Community Chairman, Justice Jasbir Singh, Justice Balbir Singh, HS Cheema from Cheema Boilers, Dr Sandeep Garg, Eco Paryavaran, Dr Sumit Shreyon from Dainik Jagran, and Renuka Salwan from Panjab University were among those present on the occasion.
