SANGRUR: Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Saturday visited Civil Hospital Sangrur and took stock of the health status of Meritorious School students.

Today these forms have been sent to all the meritorious schools of Punjab”.
“The contract was signed with this contractor at Ghabadan in February 2023 and he was instructed to follow all the terms and conditions keeping in mind the interests and health safety of the students. The information from the students revealed that after Diwali there was a decline in the quality of food, about which these students also informed the school management, but the situation did not improve. This is a serious matter and if the facts in this regard come out during the investigation, adequate action will be taken against those who did not take the complaint of the students seriously. The principal of the meritorious school has also been suspended with immediate effect.
The health of the children admitted in the hospital was sound and most of the students have come to the hospital due to anxiety. None of the children complained of vomiting or diarrhoea. The samples of the food material being served in meritorious schools have been sent for testing and strict action will be taken as soon as per the results. The food samples have also been taken in the remaining 9 meritorious schools of Punjab by the teams of the Education and Health Departments and they are personally monitoring the entire process”, added Bains.
