Florida woman busted after calling cops over stolen weed

A Florida woman with two outstanding arrest warrants was busted after calling cops to complain that someone “stole her marijuana” — worth as little as $5.

Lily Rinker, 23, made the complaint at 2 a.m. last Thursday from a Best Western in Stuart, a coastal city 40 miles north of West Palm Beach, according to a police report shared by The Smoking Gun.

She told an arriving officer that a man named Carlos — whom she had only recently met — left her hotel room after taking half a gram of pot, worth as little as $5 to $10, from l; a larger $30 stash she had in her grinder.

“Rinker stated she did not know what to do so she decided to call the police,” a probable cause affidavit said.

Police then discovered the Jupiter resident had open arrest warrants in Palm Beach County, according to the outlet.

Rinker had been arrested last year for striking her father in the face after he posted a picture of her holding a vape online, the report said.

The former University of Cincinnati and Eastern Florida State College golfer had objected to the photo because “she is a college athlete and could not be seen holding a vape,” a police document reportedly said.

A second warrant had been issued because Rinker missed a probation violation hearing after being convicted of DUI earlier this year.

While possession of marijuana is illegal in the Sunshine State, it was unclear if she was being charged over the paltry amount, which would be a misdemeanor.

Rinker did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Post.

The incident follows a string of other bizarre interactions with police by fellow Florida residents.

In 2017, a self-described drug dealer called the cops to report that someone had stolen cocaine from his car in Fort Walton Beach.

In 2021, a man allegedly found with bags of coke and methamphetamine tied around his penis after being pulled over in Clearwater offered police a cockamamie excuse — that the packages “were not his.”

Last year, a woman was charged with drug possession after she and her partner allegedly called cops for help moving “their belongings” from the Polk County residence they were robbing.
