Candidates, who want to take the FMGE December 2023 exam, can fill out the application form on the NBE’s official website – https://natboard.edu.in/.
The application link will be active from 9 a.m. today. If you’re eligible, you can apply for FMGE 2023 until October 25. The application window will close at 6 p.m.
NMC conducts the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination twice a year. The exam is for Indian and overseas candidates who want provisional or permanent registration from the Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC) to practice or study medicine in India.
The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), also known as the Screening Test for Foreign Medical Graduates, was introduced through the Screening Test Regulations, 2002.
The regulations say, “An Indian citizen/Overseas citizen of India with a primary medical qualification from a medical institution outside India must pass a screening test to get provisional or permanent registration with Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council after March 15, 2002.”
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is responsible for conducting the Screening Test according to Screening Test Regulations 2002. They conduct the test, publish the results, and give the results to the National Medical Commission and all State Medical Councils.
To apply for FMGE, you must be an Indian citizen or an Overseas Citizen of India with a primary medical qualification recognized by the Indian Embassy. Your final exam results for the primary medical qualification must be declared on or before the specified date for the FMG Examination.
Only eligible candidates can take the FMGE. Eligible candidates have the Eligibility Certificate (if applicable) and the Provisional Pass Certificate/Degree Certificate of the Primary Medical Qualification.
If you pass the FMGE, you’ll get a Screening Test Pass Certificate from NBEMS after they verify your biometric/Face ID during the exam and check your documents.
The NBEMS website has the Information Bulletin of FMGE, links for online application submission, guidelines for application submission, applicant login, notices related to FMGE, and results of FMG Examinations.
The FMGE exam, as per the official notice, is tentatively scheduled for December 2023. To apply for the screening test, you must have the eligibility certificate issued by NMC.
If you have questions about your application, you can contact NMC at [email protected] or [email protected]. This is what the official notice from NMC says.
