Foot Locker unveiled on Wednesday a new retail concept at its Willowbrook Mall location in Wayne, New Jersey.
Foot Locker’s new store concept introduces several innovative features including a new modern and streamlined layout designed to encourage exploration. Bright and eye-catching sections near the store entrance will showcase the latest sneaker releases and trending products, while dynamic storytelling opportunities throughout the store will spotlight Foot Locker’s brand partners and enhance product presentations, facilitating a better understanding of features and benefits.
Likewise, a designated communal try-on area will foster connections among customers, allowing them to experience the inclusivity of sneaker culture firsthand. At the heart of the store lies the Sneaker Hub, a destination offering specialized lacing customization, expanded ordering choices, and personalized experiences to strengthen connections with customers. Furthermore, advanced technology will equip Foot Locker’s staff with omnichannel inventory availability, providing customers with multiple fulfillment options.
“Our new store concept cements Foot Locker’s position as the leader in sneaker culture by offering an engaging, cutting-edge shopping experience for the sneaker passionate,” said Mary Dillon, Foot Locker, Inc. president and chief executive officer.
“As we continue progressing against our Lace Up Plan, this inventive retail experience delivers on our promise to power up the portfolio, while providing an unparalleled, omni-focused customer experience.”
The launch of Foot Locker’s new store concept at Willowbrook Mall marks the beginning of a global rollout, with additional locations slated to open throughout 2024, including the brand’s flagship store on 34th Street in New York City. Furthermore, reimagined Kids Foot Locker experiences will be introduced.
Aligned with Foot Locker’s Lace Up Plan introduced in March 2023, the new store concept reflects the company’s commitment to reshaping its real estate footprint.
In addition to these initiatives, Foot Locker is undertaking a comprehensive store refresh program aimed at creating a more consistent and elevated brand experience. By the end of 2025, approximately two-thirds of global Foot Locker and Kids Foot Locker stores will undergo refreshes to align with the company’s reinvented store concept.
“After nearly 50 years, Foot Locker continues to be the beating heart and global home for all things sneakers,” said Frank Bracken, Foot Locker, Inc. executive vice president and chief commercial officer.
“Building on our sustained momentum, we’re thrilled to bring our revitalized store expression to our customers across the globe, inspiring them to shop top brands and unlock their inner sneakerhead with the help of our iconic Stripers.”
