Former Pirates players to start a business on the internet

Many Orlando Pirates supporters can agree that Kermit Erasmus and Mpho Makola are club legends. The latter has revealed a new exciting plan.

MPHO MAKOLA REVEALS PLANS WITH KERMIT ERASMUS

The 38-year-old Makola retired in 2022 after he was released by Polokwane City. The former Cape Town City and Orlando Pirates midfielder spent the past two years coaching in the fourth division. Speaking to the media this week, the Groblersdal-born star revealed he will pursue his coaching badges and also start a podcast with his former teammate Erasmus.

“Now I’m just planning to get my badges, not that I want to be a coach one day, maybe just to take up a technical director role,” Makola told FARPost.

“For now, I’m going to continue coaching the young boys [in the amateur leagues]. I’m done playing, I’m not tired, my body is still fit because I train with these players. But I’m also going to be busy with my podcast with Kermit Erasmus. I’m also having my tournament in Tafelkop [Limpopo] in December.

ORLANDO PIRATES SIGN SALAELO RASEBOTJA

Orlando Pirates are busy doing early business. The MTN8 and Nedbank Cup champions have signed Selaelo Rasebotja from SuperSport United.

According to the seasoned SABC Sport reporter Mazola Molefe, the 23-year-old Rasebotja has joined Orlando Pirates as a free agent. His deal with Matsatsantsa is ending on the 30th.

“SABC Sport can reveal that Orlando Pirates have swooped in on midfielder Selaelo Rasebotja, who joins the Soweto giants on a free transfer,” Molefe reported.

“Rasebotja was promoted from the SuperSport United academy at the start of the 2020/21 season, under then coach Kaitano Tembo, and payed a bit-part role at the Tshwane side.

“However, with the 23-year-old due to become a free agent at the end of this month, Pirates have moved swiftly to rope him in to bolster coach Jose Riveiro’s squad,” the report added.

SECOND SIGNING FROM SUPERSPORT

Meanwhile, Rasebotja will be joining up with his former teammate. As reported last week, Orlando Pirates decided to sign Thalente Mbatha on a permanent deal. The Kwa Mashu-born midfielder had joined in January on a six months loan deal.

“Thalente Mbatha now belongs to Orlando Pirates on a permanent basis. Deal finalised with SuperSport United,” Unplayable reported.
