FORTNITE servers have gone down as Epic Games prepares for the upcoming season.
Chapter 5 Season 3 is one of the bigger updates in Fortnite, and as such it’s taking a long time to prepare.
If you want to get into Fortnite as soon as possible to experience the new season, we’ve got everything you need to know.
Here’s all the details about the Fortnite downtime and what is coming in Chapter 5 Season 3.
Why is Fortnite down?
Fortnite is currently offline for scheduled server maintenance, so that Epic Games can prepare for the upcoming season.
Downtime began at 11pm PT / 2am ET / 7am UK time, and will continue until the next season is ready to launch.
When will Fortnite be back online?
There is no official time for when Fortnite will be back online, but we can give estimates based on prior downtimes.
Fortnite seasonal updates usually take around five hours meaning that the game would be back online around 4am PT / 7am ET / 12pm ET.
However, the last major update took significantly longer, and many people had to wait up to 24 hours to get back into the game.
We expect this update to be one of the longer ones, but it will likely be back online some time today (May 24, 2024)
What is coming in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3?
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 will feature two big collaborations. The first is linked to Mad Max: Furiosa.
This season is officially called Fortnite: Wrecked, and will feature a new Wasteland biome.
The new biome is also linked to the Fallout collaboration where the Wastelands are a huge part of the series world.
New vehicle mods are being added to see you roam the Wastelands Mad Max-style, and Fallout-themed Power Armour will be added.
