William Byron emerged victorious in the 2024 Daytona 500 NASCAR race on Monday at Daytona International Speedway, fending off the competition to clinch the win.
Byron was in the lead and took the white flag while Ross Chastain and Austin Cindric spun through the infield grass. NASCAR waved the caution flag just a few car lengths after Byron crossed the start-finish line, freezing the field and securing Byron’s win.
Chase Elliott claimed the Stage 1 victory, while Ryan Blaney secured the Stage 2 win, earning both 10 regular season points and a playoff point. Blaney’s chances of winning were dashed when he was involved in an 18-car crash with eight laps to go.
