An organisation enthusiast has caused quite the stir online after demonstrating a ‘simple’ laundry hack to save space.
Millions rushed to the platform after user Beatriz, who often shares home and organisation ideas, revealed the “space-saving” way to hang more clothes on a drying rack.

However, instead of bombarding her with praise and admiration, they slammed the hack.
“Double the space on your drying rack by hanging your clothes like this,” Beatriz explained on the video.
In the clip, she first hangs six shirts on a drying rack as intended, with each pegged to the different horizontally tiered poles.
But then she removes the garments and tests a second method.
Beatriz manages to squeeze 11 shirts on the line, with each drooping vertically between the top and bottom poles.
Despite being able to fit five more shirts on the hanger and thus saving space, many of the video’s 7.5 million viewers were unimpressed.
Many were worried the lack of space between the shirts would decrease airflow, causing the drying time to “double” and the smell of damp laundry to waft through the air.
“That could make the clothes smell funky though,” one suggested.
“And will take 5-7 business working days to dry,” another said.
A third was concerned: “Would go moldy before it dries.”
“Good idea when you want a laundry that doesn’t dry and stinks!” a fourth wrote.
And a fifth simply wrote: “I don’t get it.”
Others steered away from the “smelly” factor, and worried more about the appearance of the clothes.
“See, the first way it looks almost ironed without effort, The second way you will have to iron it,” one person said.
“Then all those t-shirts will be misshaped,” another feared.
While a third wrote: “Then you might as well put it wet in a pile.”
Another comment proposed: “A real hack is to leave a row in between each item of clothing. Takes up more space, but dries much quicker.”
