Hike and WinZO were unhappy partners. Three years after their bitter parting, allegations of IP theft and frivolous litigation to hinder growth fly thick and fast between the startups.
The bitterness between one-time partners WinZO and Hike has snowballed into a full-blown conflict which has taken a legal turn. Gaming startup WinZO has alleged that Hike, run by Airtel scion Kavin Bharti Mittal, has violated its intellectual property and copied its app. WinZO has approached the Delhi High Court, which referred the matter to arbitration. Hike has rubbished WinZO’s claims and called it a frivolous case to tarnish its credibility
