GENSHIN Impact is one of the most popular free-to-play games of all time, but just because it’s free it doesn’t mean people don’t spend money.
More than 50% of adults spend money on free-to-play games, and with its gacha mechanics, people end up spending big on Genshin Impact.

Luckily for players, developer HoYoverse is giving away a number of goodies to celebrate the 5.0 update for the game’s fourth anniversary.
The highlight of the anniversary rewards is a free five-star character giveaway that can be worth up to £200/$200.
It costs 160 Primogems for one banner pull, and you need 90 pulls to guarantee a five-star character.
While lucky players will pay less than this, if you are always going for the latest five-star character this can add up quickly.
Not only can players claim a five-star character, but they can choose the one they want from a list of seven.
The developer also claims that this will be a returning feature for every anniversary celebration so people can fill the gaps in their character rosters.
Here are the seven five-star characters that you can choose from.
- Dehya
- Keqing
- Mona
- Qiqi
- Jean
- Tighnari
- Diluc
The anniversary rewards also include ten pulls from the limited banners, which you can earn by logging in during the update.
You will find a long list of rewards that you can gain through the in-game mail by logging in, including the new item Sanctifying Elixir.
This new item will allow players to craft artifacts and determine the main stat as well as two of its sub stats.

- Primogem x 1.6k
- Sanctifying Elixir x 1
- Fragile Resin x 2
- Firstborn Firesprite x 1
- Kaboom Box
Those who purchase the bundles in the in-game store will also receive a number of extra items and currency.
Genshin Impact banners will feature three new characters, Mualani, Kinich, and Kachina, and if you log in you can use your free pulls to grab them.
Version 5.0 will launch on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, which is when players will be able to grab their free in-game items.
