Guest in Residence, the luxury cashmere label recently launched in the USA by top model Gigi Hadid, is making its first appearance in France. The brand is opening a pop-up store on Tuesday, September 26 at Le Bon Marché, the Parisian department store on the Seine’s left bank.

Guest in Residence (or GIR for the fans) was launched in autumn 2022 and is known for its casual-chic style, inspired by the groovy 1970s aesthetic and is consistent with the current quiet luxury trend. Le Bon Marché will be the brand’s first location in France.
The pop-up store is located in the department store’s contemporary designer space on the first floor, and will be open until October 23. It showcases the label’s essentials wardrobe and the new Fall/Winter 2023 collection, which includes a cropped ivory-coloured cardigan, rugby-style sweaters in colour-block stripes, a royal blue button-down polo, a pair of grey joggers, and a gilet in powder pink, the label’s flagship product, priced at €530.
“The new collection is inspired by the psychedelic art movement of the 1970s, drawing on the visual art exhibitions, graphic motifs, patterns and fabrics typical of those years,” Gigi Hadid told FashionNetwork.com. “We really wanted to capture the unique energy and spirit of a yearning for liberty that changed perceptions and pushed boundaries,” she added.
International expansion
Guest in Residence’s first foray into France is part of the label’s current plan for expanding its international retail footprint. With the women’s and men’s collections – whose wool is sourced in Inner Mongolia – Guest in Residence has recently gained a foothold in various select, high-end retailers.
“The label is broadening its reach from the direct-to-consumer channel to wholesale – with Le Bon Marché as its exclusive partner in France – and it aims to continue to focus on partnering with leading retailers and e-tailers worldwide,” said Hadid, who co-hosts the Next in Fashion series on Netflix, and starred in the Jacquemus autumn campaign.

“We have recently launched with Net-A-Porter and Ssense, and we are planning concessions at Bergdorf Goodman (in the USA), a window-display activation and a concession at Luisa Via Roma (in Italy), as well as various events,” said Hadid, who as well as founder is the label’s creative director. “[Guest in Residence] is also working to grow its retail presence, and exploring the possibility of collaborations with other brands to expand the product range,” she added.
Guest in Residence’s warm wardrobe features knitwear for adults but also a capsule collection for infants, complete with ultra-cute brightly coloured socks and a baby blanket.
