They ended up having to break the exhibit to free her.
Ayla got one wrist trapped on a family visit to the interactive Black Country Living Museum, in Dudley, West Mids — with the other cuff fastened to a leather loop.
Her builder dad Paul, 38, told The Sun: “The museum’s about picking things up and playing with them.
“There was a pair of cuffs just lying there. Ayla put them on her wrist and suddenly they just clicked.
“We didn’t think it was a big deal but a worker said they were from the war so nobody has the key.”
After 45 minutes an engineer with a G-clamp buckled the cuff and the family were given tickets to the museum’s funfair — while Ayla got an ice pack for her wrist.
Paul, of Leicester, added: “There was a cheer when we got them off. Ayla knows she’s a nuisance so she found it funny.”
