A skater has been filmed clinging to the back of a moving tram before eventually falling on the Gold Coast.
The young man appeared to avoid serious injury in footage that was posted on social media recently and which has received thousands of views and shares.
In the video, which can be seen above, the rider appears to skate up behind the stationary tram, before hanging on to the rear windscreen wiper as it departs the Southport South stop.

Another angle shows the skater being filmed from inside the tram before he lets go and falls off his skateboard.
Comments on social media were divided, with some users finding the prank funny, while others instead highlighted the potential for things to have gone horribly wrong.
One user said the skater was “awaiting the fine”.
Another said, “he’s on his way to the morgue” and a third sarcastically proclaimed that “his parents must be so proud”.
Last week, a scooter collided with a tram on the Gold Coast after the rider lost control.
The scooter was lodged underneath the tram before staff managed to pull it free.
