THE GREEN Brigade could be heading for a return to Celtic Park.
The die-hard ultras have been banned from the stadium since the end of October, when all of around 250 members of the supporters’ group had their season tickets suspended by the club.
Six reasons were given by the club as to why they were being banished, citing “unacceptable conduct” and slamming the use “terrorist” flags.
But ahead of this weekend’s match against Livingston, they have strongly hinted their presence will be back at Parkhead.
Tensions between the fans’ group and the Celtic hierarchy rose when the Green Brigade urged fellow supporters to defy the club’s stance on flying Palestine flags ahead of their Champions League match against Atletico Madrid.
A bitter back and forth ensued which eventually led to the club revoking their season books.
Last week, Celtic laid out their demands to the Green Brigade before the group could return to matches.
That came after the Green Brigade claimed the 267 fans in the section were owed £192.20 from the 13 games they’ve been locked out for.
But Celtic said in response: “The club is currently in communication and engagement with the group in question with a view to returning to a situation where rules and regulations around operating safely are respected and complied with.
“The club has already stated very clearly that refunds for any match or matches during this suspension will be available.”
North Curve Celtic (the fan collective that includes the Green Brigade) shared arrangements for a meeting before Saturday’s Scottish Premiership match.
The group will gather at the Celtic Supporters’ Association building at 1.15pm, according to a graphic posted on Twitter (now X).
With a heading of “Coreteo v Livingston”, also on the graphic was the message “football without fans is nothing”, a quote made famous by former Celtic manager and club legend, Jock Stein.
The graphic was accompanied by the caption “Adeste fideles”, which is another name for the popular Christmas carol O Come, All Ye Faithful.
If the ultras are indeed allowed back into the stadium, it would be just in time for the Old Firm derby clash against Glasgow rivals Rangers on December 30.
SunSport has approached Celtic for comment.
