The military is reviewing video of a large mystery object that washed ashore on WA’s Mid West coast.
The strange cylinder was first discovered on a beach near Green Head on Saturday but was not reported to police until Sunday afternoon.
A police spokesperson confirmed that Water Police are trying to identify the origin of the item and liaising with the Australian Defence Force.
The person who found the cylinder thought it was part of a plane’s sewerage system, but this has not been confirmed by authorities.
The object appears to be metallic and at least two metres high.

This comes three weeks after the army was called in to investigate another object washed up on a popular beach in suburban Perth.
A member of the public found the mystery device floating close to shore at North Beach on the afternoon of June 23.
The device had writing on the side warning people to stay away and contact the police.
Police cordoned off part of the beach and called in army team to inspect the device.
The soldiers detonated the device on the beach approximately three hours later, with local residents hearing a loud bang shortly after nightfall.
