Elina Svitolina’s fourth-round win at Wimbledon on Sunday also came with a loss: she had to give up her Harry Styles concert tickets.
The Ukrainian tennis player, who is currently ranked No. 76 in the world, was a wild-card entry into the tournament and clearly didn’t expect to make it as far as she has.
In fact, the 28-year-old Svitolina had two tickets to see Styles in Vienna on Saturday night, posting on Instagram: “Hey guys!! I was supposed to go see my fav @harrystyles concert in Vienna tomorrow… But Wimbledon changed my plans. Someone want to go?”
Her message was then shared on Wimbledon’s Instagram account, which caught the attention of Styles, who then offered Svitolina an alternate option.
“Congratulations! We have four shows to go, you’re welcome at any of them. Good luck with the rest of the tournament. H,” Styles commented on the post.

Svitolina took care of business against Victoria Azarenka of Belarus, winning the three-set match with an ace in the final set tiebreak.
Styles, 29, was still on Svitolina’s mind after her win.
“You were supposed to go to a Harry Styles concert yesterday. You gave the tickets away. This is a bit better than that isn’t it?” Svitolina was asked in a post-game interview, according to The Sun.

“Well, I hope Harry is watching so maybe… I’m just a big fan of his,” Svitolina replied of the three-time Grammy winner.
Azarenka had won the previous five matches against Svitolina.
With Sunday’s win, Svitolina advanced to the Wimbledon quarterfinals for just the second time in her career.

She went on to beat world No. 1 Iga Swiatek in a thrilling upset win Tuesday to earn a spot in Thursday’s semifinal against Markéta Vondroušová.
Styles is at the tail-end of his “Love on Tour” shows, which began in September 2021.
His final performance is in Reggio Emilia, Italy, on July 22.
With Wimbledon concluding on July 16, Svitolina will likely be able to catch Styles in concert, and perhaps bring some new hardware with her to the show.
