Harry Styles is further developing his Pleasing beauty brand and has just launched fragrances, the collection also making its debut in The Corner Shop at Selfridges on London’s Oxford Street.
The line comprises three gender-neutral scents that we’re told focus on “simplicity, innovation and creativity” with the trio of products “connected by an exploration of warmth” and aiming to evoke the “comforting warmth of a second-skin”.
The company worked with Robertet on the formulations for the products that are priced at £135.
They’ve come up with Closeness, a woody musk fragrance featuring Australian pink pepper extract, cardamom, a “clean sheets accord”, orris butter, carrot seed, bamboo, salted musk, Indian papyrus and cashmere woods. It’s packaged in a black glass bottle with a pink orb cap.
Then there’s Bright Hot that’s said to smell like “an exhilarating adventure” and comes in an amber glass bottle. Already sold out on the Pleasing webstore, it’s a heady woody amber scent with notes of plum, tobacco leaves, orris butter, a marine accord, cedarwood, tonka bean, vanilla, and crisp amber.
Finally, Rivulets is a floral fresh amber scent featuring naturally occurring ambrette seed set against lemon and black pepper Madagascar, a white linen accord, poplin blossom, ambroxan and skin musk for an “evocative, addictive scent”. It comes in a blue bottle that contrasts sharply with the yellow outer case.
Pleasing was founded by the pop star-cum-style icon in 2021 with the debut products focusing on nail polish and skincare, although it has since expanded into clothing and make-up.
The Corner Shop residency is a key step given the very high profile of this particular piece of Selfridges real estate and the succession of huge names (from Prada to Skims, Mugler, Elton John and more) who’ve had Corner Shop launches previously.
