The plot of House of the Dragon Season 2 centers on the Dance of the Dragons, a civil war. Alicent claimed the throne for her son, Aegon II, in Season 1, while Rhaenyra was crowned by her followers. Diplomacy failed, leading to the death of Rhaenyra’s middle son. Rhaenyra, in grief, ends the time for talking.
This battle for the Targaryen throne leads to a civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. Team Green and Team Black will try to win over different parts of the kingdom while waging war. Season 2 will also adapt the Blood and Cheese events from the book.
