A globally-renowned mansion that has been compared to a wedge of camembert cheese has hit the market in City Beach.
The five-bedroom property on Callington Avenue was specifically designed by Iredale Pedersen Hook Architects to feel like a holiday retreat.
And nothing says holiday more than a big chunk of cheese.
“Analogous to a wedge of camembert cheese, the tactile and delicious materials are reserved for the interior spaces and courtyards,” says the advert for the home.
“The large, anonymous, external white walls resonate as powerful barriers, carefully concealing the internal richness of the private world”.

Fromage aside, the home has earned praise from across the globe for its incredible design.
Sitting on a 1019sqm block with 753sqm of living space, it was constructed from high-end materials.
Real estate agent Scott Swingler said it would take five or six years to build a similar home.
The north wall on the second floor is made entirely from glass, allowing abundant light and views over the pool and a Jos Myers mural, while a rooftop terrace has sea glimpses.
It has won architectural awards and has featured in numerous architecture magazines, including a Chinese magazine which named it one of the top 100 new houses in the world.
