How feds plan to use Hunter Biden’s drug-filled memoir against him in weapons case: ‘Feeding the beast’

Prosecutors in the federal gun case against first son Hunter Biden want to turn his 2021 memoir “Beautiful Things” back on its author — by submitting excerpts into evidence in which the younger Biden describes “feeding the beast” of his drug addiction around the time he is accused of illegally purchasing a pistol.

President Biden’s 54-year-old son is slated to face trial beginning June 3 in Delaware on three charges tied to allegations he illegally purchased a firearm while addicted to crack cocaine on Oct. 12, 2018.

Prosecutors in special counsel David Weiss’ office argued Tuesday that they should be allowed to show the jury certain passages from “Beautiful Things” and play portions of the audiobook — narrated by Hunter Biden himself.

Prosecutors in the Delaware gun case against Hunter Biden want to use excerpts from his book at trial.

At the same time, they argued, the first son shouldn’t be allowed to introduce “self-serving” portions of the book unless he’s willing to be cross-examined on the witness stand.

Some of the salacious passages that the feds want to introduce include one where the Biden scion recalled that “[b]y the time my plane touched down in Los Angeles in March 2019, I had no plan beyond the moment-to-moment demands of the crack pipe.”

Hunter Biden also described the time period around when he purchased the Colt Cobra revolver by saying: “I hardly went anywhere now, except to buy.

“It was me and a crack pipe in a Super 8 [motel], not knowing which the f— way was up. All my energy revolved around smoking drugs and making arrangements to buy drugs — feeding the beast.”

Prosecutors separately claimed Tuesday that Hunter Biden’s legal team shouldn’t be allowed to argue or suggest at trial that the feds have to prove that he was actually on drugs the day he bought the weapon.

There is “overwhelming evidence of his addiction before, during, and after the period when he possessed the gun,” prosecutors wrote.

For instance, they said, the day after he bought the firearm, Hunter Biden messaged someone saying, “I’m now off MD Av behind blue rocks stadium waiting for a dealer named Mookie.”

The next day, Oct. 14, 2018, he sent a message to the same friend saying, “I was sleeping on a car smoking crack on 4th street and Rodney,” the court papers claim.

Hunter’s sister-in-law-turned-lover, Hallie Biden, ditched the gun on Oct. 23 — 11 days after he bought it — prompting an angry outburst from the now-first son.

The younger Biden faces a second criminal case in Los Angeles on tax evasion charges and is slated to go to trial in that case June 20.

On Friday, his lawyers asked for a pause of the LA case while they appeal a judge’s ruling tossing their bid to have the charges thrown out. The judge has yet to decide whether he’ll grant the postponement.

Last week, a the Third Circuit Court of Appeals rejected Hunter Biden’s request to toss the gun charges.

Biden is charged with two counts of making false statements and one count of firearm possession by an unlawful substance abuser and faces up to 25 years behind bars if convicted on all counts.

Hunter had been slated to take a sweetheart plea deal last summer, but it blew up after prosecutors and a judge said the deal wouldn’t shield him from other potential charges — which were later mounted against him in the tax case.

The first son’s lawyers didn’t immediately return a request for comment Tuesday morning.
