In a TikTok video, the driver offered a detailed breakdown of how he made an extra $633.69 (before tax) during a week in June after working just 16 hours and 17 minutes delivering food to homes.

“It’s perfect for me because I live alone and I work from home, so I have no reason to leave the house,” Hutchinson said.

“So I actually started Uber driving as a way to get out of the house and then also make a little bit of extra money as well.

“I’m gonna be honest, when I got into Uber Eats driving, it was actually more so to get me out of the house.

“But I’m kind of surprised at how much money I’m actually making from it.”

The comedian – who has more than 3.7 million TikTok followers – shared a graph showing the amount he made over six days, excluding Saturday.

“So if we break down $633 into 16 hours, it’s roughly around $40 an hour,” Hutchinson said.

“Basically, from Monday to Friday, I usually do about an hour to an hour-and-a-half around lunchtime and then dinner time… and I did a little bit of an extra delivery on Sunday.”

Hutchinson made $462.50 for his delivery service and a $14.97 tip.

Under “promotions”, he earned an extra $156.22.

“So let me tell you something,” he began to reveal.

“When you’re doing Uber deliveries, you do get your net fare, so how much you actually make from the deliveries, but then they also have promotions.

“There was a few promotions that were on through the week that actually helps me make a bit more money.

“The promotions are always different, and they have them every single week.

“One of them was, like, do three deliveries between this time and this time and get an extra $18.”

Hutchinson said he doesn’t usually do deliveries over the weekend but there was an incentive for taking up extra work.

“The reason I delivered on Sunday was because there was a promotion from Friday to Sunday, and it was if you made 15 deliveries, then you would get an extra $60 or something like that,” he said.

“So on Friday, I had done 10 deliveries and on Sunday, I literally just went out to five deliveries and made $60, it was amazing.”

He said the promotions were a great way for drivers to earn extra money.

“If you need to make an extra, like, couple hundred dollars a week or something, then you can always just do the promotion,” Hutchinson said.

“So you can always just do the deliveries and the promotions, that way you’ll make more money quickly. It’s easy.”

Side hustle

As an Uber Eats driver, he said he can claim many things back on tax – including fuel and car services.

The TikTok star said he wanted to be transparent about his pay cheque to encourage Aussies to take up a side hustle if they were looking to make some money.

“Obviously, Uber Eats delivery driving is different for everyone. But this is how it worked for me,” he said.

“I know that there’s a lot of people looking for different ways to make money at the moment, and Uber Eats driving is one of them.”

Hutchinson added: “By the way, this video isn’t sponsored, it’s purely for information purposes.”
