Synopsis

When Devinjit Singh, ex-Carlyle, and PR Srinivasan, ex-Citigroup, came together, the combined idea was to create a high quality, locally managed, mid-market PE fund. Through their experience, the founders had one significant learning – the need to proactively anticipate possible exit strategies at the time of investments. And that forms an integral part of Xponentia’s ethos, they tell ET Prime.

Xponentia is a private equity (PE) fund that just raised its second fund of INR1,195 crore — about three times the value of its first fund — within a few years, largely raised from domestic investors in India and managed by fund managers with a rich experience in managing PE funds. During this time, Devinjit Singh and PR Srinivasan, the fund’s founders, have developed a very distinct approach to investing and more than that, exiting investments.
