ICAI CA Exam: ICAI announces major change in CA exam pattern: Foundation and Inter exams thrice a year |

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced a major change in the pattern of CA Foundation and Inter exams. Previously, the Foundation and Intermediary exams were conducted twice a year, but now candidates will have the opportunity to appear for the ICAI CA Exam three times annually.
The change in pattern was announced by Central Council Member (CCM) of the ICAI, Dhiraj Khandelwal via a post on the social media platform X.
According to the tweet, this decision has been welcomed by the CA student community, as it provides them with more flexibility and chances to succeed. The ICAI’s move to introduce this change is seen as a positive step towards supporting CA students who will be taking the ICAI CA Exam in future.
The tweet read, “Welcoming move by the ICAI to bring a beneficial change in favour of the CA student fraternity by introducing CA examinations thrice a year for CA Foundation and CA Inter level. “

The ICAI Foundation exam is the first step towards becoming a Chartered Accountant. Candidates can take it after completing Class 12. After passing the Foundation, they can enrol in the CA Intermediate course, which consists of two groups of four subjects each. The CA final exam is the final step towards becoming a CA. Each year more than one lakh candidates register for the ICAI CA Exam.
