IIM Jammu, SIDBI to launch two batches of ‘skill to enterprise module’ for youth of J&K and Ladakh

JAMMU: To bridge the gap between ‘Skill and Entrepreneurship,’ the Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM Jammu) and the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) have collaborated to offer a specialized one-year Skill to Enterprise Module (STEM) program for the youth of J&K and Ladakh.
An official spokesperson from IIM Jammu stated, “The program is designed to equip the youth with the necessary knowledge and guidance to start and grow their own businesses.It will provide comprehensive four weeks of residential training with eight weeks of virtual training to help participants develop an understanding of business management, compliance, finance, planning, and strategic aspects of business.”
“Candidates will be selected by experts based on the readiness of their ideas and will be provided guidance through industry mentorship and incubation. Two batches of STEM will commence from Dec 4 and Dec 19 at IIM Srinagar and Jammu campuses.”
Prof. BS Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, who conceived this idea for the youth of J&K and played a key role in creating this collaboration with SIDBI, said that the program will help youth realize their full potential, create job opportunities for themselves and others, and contribute to the economic growth of our nation.
“STEM is a joint collaboration between IIM Jammu and SIDBI and is designed to provide entrepreneurs with the necessary knowledge and skills to start and manage their businesses successfully,” an IIM Jammu spokesperson added, stating that a total of 60 selected participants will be trained over a period of one year, and the participants will not be charged any fee.
