In Arcadia, horse racing is in the air as Breeder’s Cup beckons – Daily News

On a crisp November morning in Arcadia, the horses were on the track, the sun rising, the gallops echoing through a Santa Anita stadium that will be filled Friday and Saturday with spectators.

It was a training morning on Thursday, Nov. 2, at Santa Anita, as anticipation grew for the Breeder’s Cup World Championships.

The two-day, 14-race event is known as the culmination of the horse-racing year, drawing world-class jockeys and their horses.

The racing begins on Friday with Future Stars Friday, where up-and-coming racers compete in five juvenile (2-year-old) races. And the comes Saturday, where the Breeders’ Cup seeks to crown nine more world champions, including the $6 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic.
